Distress Centre’s Storytelling Initiative

At Distress Centre, we know how powerful stories can be. Sharing stories helps us reach Distress Centre’s mission, by inspiring others to take action, like reaching out for help, becoming a volunteer, making a donation, or advocating for the work of Distress Centre.

In an effort to share more stories, we want to hear from you about your experience as a volunteer or staff at Distress Centre.

We believe that every person at Distress Centre has a story to tell and we have developed this storytelling initiative to identify and gather these amazing stories. We want to hear from any Distress Centre volunteer or staff who wants to share their story.

Here are a few stories featuring DC volunteers and staff to give you an idea of the end result:

  1. If you would like to have an in-person or phone interview with a member of our storytelling committee, please fill out this form and a member of our storytelling committee will get in touch with you promptly to set up an interview.
  2. If you would prefer to type up your experience, please complete one of the following forms:
    1. Form for contact centre volunteers and staff
    2. Form for other volunteers and staff
  3. If you would like to nominate another person to share their story, please fill out this form and we will get in touch to see if they’re interested.

We want to hear about your experience at Distress Centre: Why did you want to get involved? How has your experience here been?
